On Saturday, September 16, 2006 shortly before 9:00am, two male subjects pretended to be store employees in order to gain entry to a retail jewellery store on 6 th Ave. SW in Calgary, Alberta.
As soon as the two subjects were inside the store, they produced handguns and ordered the employees to drop to the ground. The staff members were also bound with duct tape. The subjects then began to fill bags with jewellery.
Police stated that sometime during the attempted robbery, the store's silent hold up alarm was activated. In their hurry to flee from the store, the two thieves dropped the bags they had filled with jewellery as well as one of their handguns. A description of the two male subjects is not available at this time.
