On November 14 th 2006 a male subject posing as an experienced diamond setter, completed a job interview with the manager of a retail jewellery store in Woodbridge , Ontario . He is described as male/white, 5'9” tall, approximately 175 lbs, in his “40's” with dark hair, and wearing jeans and a brown padded jacket, using the name “David”. He was very convincing and obviously had experience in repair work. The next day, November 15 th , 2006, this same subject attended the store to begin the job he had applied for. Unfortunately this subject decided to take a large quantity of loose diamonds home with him. He hasn't been seen since.
THEFT – SASKATOON , SASKATCHEWAN
On Tuesday, Dec. 5 th 2006, a male subject phoned ahead to a retail jeweller in Saskatoon and applied for a job as a stone setter. He said he wanted to start immediately. He gave his name as “David Lee”. He artfully dodges any queries of a personal nature. He was given several jobs to work on and left. The next day, he stated that he “had to return to Toronto ”. A verbal description of this subject is as follows: Possibly of Russian decent; approximately 5'9” tall, 185 lbs; dark mid length hair; late 30's to mid 40's; wearing blue jeans and a brown padded jacket.
Discovered missing after his departure were: .75 carat SI2 D Ideal cut diamond set into a ring .73 carat total weight of diamonds 18K white 1.02 carat loose diamond SI2 G Canadian Girdle inscribed CMVC-56 1604 1.00 carat Canadian round diamond 1.08 carat VS2 princess cut in 18K white gold setting.
