On October 20 th 2008 at approximately 3:15pm , a male subject grabbed and ran with a ring containing a one carat round solitaire diamond mounted in white gold and platinum, from a sales associate of a retail jewellery store. He ran out to the parking lot and escaped in a waiting vehicle. The vehicle is described as a two door red or burgundy SUV truck. The store is located in Northgate Square .
The stone is described as HI/SI2 and is laser engraved with NWT3-38647, with a significant appraisal value.
The subject is described as male/Caucasian, in his 30's, six feet tall, with salt and pepper collar length hair. He is clean shaven, of medium build and spoke with a French accent. At the time of the incident, he was wearing blue jeans, a tan jacket with a dark sweater underneath

On October 27 2008 he grabbed and ran with another diamond solitaire ring from a retail jewellery store in St. Catharines , Ontario . The diamond stolen at this location is laser inscribed with NWT3-73003. Police Occ. #08-109122.
He is described as male/Caucasian, speaks with a French accent, 6' tall, medium build, dark hair with receding hairline, wearing a silver Tissot watch (large with square face), wearing the same clothing in St. Catharines as he did in North Bay. In Kitchener, the black sweater and tan jacket is replaced with a blue and white shirt.
