FRIGHTENING TAKEOVER-STYLE ROBBERY


On Wednesday, October 24 th 2007, three men entered a retail jewellery store in the 1000 block, West Georgia Street, Vancouver, BC, and “pulled off a frightening takeover-style robbery” according to Cst. Howard Chow of the Vancouver Police Department. They were in and out of the store in approximately three minutes. They were buzzed into the store; the first person pulls out a handgun and he asks staff and one customer in the store to drop to the ground. One of the staff members is told to open up the display cases and the three men grab whatever they can. No one was injured during this occurrence.

The gunman is described as Caucasian with a shaved head, 35-40 years, clean shaven, 190 lbs, 6' – 6'2” tall, has an accent, possibly New York/Bronx, wearing a dark suit, shirt and tie.

The second is an Asian male, partially bald, very close cut (almost shaved) grey/black hair on sides, 175-180 lbs., 6' tall, wearing a dark suit and shirt and tie. He did not speak.

The third is an Asian male, dark medium length hair, 5'10”, 140-150 lbs., casually dressed, dark shirt and pants, carrying a computer/laptop style bag. Buttoned up dark shirt. He did not speak.

Various high end watches and 18K and platinum jewellery set with diamonds of different descriptions was taken.
