On October 16th 2009 two male subjects wearing hoodies entered a retail jewellery store in Capilano Mall. One remained at an entrance/exit door of the store, while the other jumped over a diamond solitaire showcase and used either a screwdriver or pry bar to gain access through the door of the case. The two subjects were in the location for 33 seconds and made off with 29 items from the showcase.

This is fourth incident of this type and scenario; December 8th 2008 at Metrotown, March 17th 2009 at Guildford Town Centre and September 3rd 2009 again at Metrotown. On January 8th 2009, six subjects (all of whom have now been arrested) entered a retail store in Capilano Mall, smashed showcases and made off with approximately 65 watches, not all of which have been recovered.
