Two robberies took place within a space of three hours in Calgary , Alberta on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 .
The first incident occurred at 4:35pm in the 4400 block of 17 th Avenue S.E. Four subjects entered a retail jewellery store and began smashing the display cabinets and stealing an undetermined amount of jewellery. One staff member sustained cuts to his hand from the broken glass.
One of the subjects is described as an aboriginal man, heavy set, about 5'10” tall, wearing a green t-shirt with a white and black logo; long sleeved white coat and blue jeans. Another subject was a Caucasian male wearing all dark clothing a ball cap and a red hoodie. Two other males were Caucasian as well, wearing blue jeans, black baseball caps under dark coloured hoodies. Three of the subjects' clothing had numerous “skull” designs.
The second incident occurred at 7:15pm in the 1600 block of 14 th Avenue N.W. Three subjects entered a retail jewellery store and smashed display cabinets with hammers and again, stole an undetermined amount of jewellery. The three subjects fled the store and joined a fourth subject in a getaway truck. Police state that the truck was a stolen black 2006 Ford F250 with large white lettering on both the rear doors; aluminum tool box in the rear box of the truck and a rack in the rear window. A male staff member was struck with one of the hammers and suffered an injury to his shoulder.
Descriptions are available for two of the four subjects in this second incident. One is described as a Caucasian male wearing a white baseball cap, red shirt and black pants. The other is described as a Caucasian male wearing dark coloured pants.
