Abbotsford Police responded to a hold up alarm at a retail jewellery store located in the 32800 block of South Fraser Way on Wednesday, June 24th 2009 at approximately 2:00pm. Two men, described as Indo-Canadian in their 20’s and wearing coloured head coverings had entered the store and held the store staff at gunpoint while committing the robbery.

The two men then fled in a black SUV. The local RCMP spotted the vehicle and provided the Abbotsford Police with a description and licence plate number, and followed it until it sped away. The Abbotsford Police located a black Ford Expedition engulfed in flames on Townline Road just south of Olund a short time later. The licence plate matched the one provided by the RCMP.
