Recent reports from Oxford County , Ontario , Bradford , Ontario , Barrie , Ontario and Gravenhurst , Ontario state that numerous counterfeit Canadian $100.00 bills have been passed in small retail business's and bars during the past several weeks.
To-date counterfeit Canadian $100.00 bills with the following serial numbers have been reported:

Tips for identifying counterfeit money include feeling for raised text, tilting for the holographic bar, looking at fine lines and looking through the bill for the water mark. Additional information is also available on the Bank of Canada's website at

The “F” Division RCMP Commercial Crime Section would also like to make the public aware of counterfeit United States bank notes circulating within Saskatchewan
Given the fact that U.S. currency is currently at (or about) equal value with Canadian currency, it is easier to exchange for notes, goods or services of equal value. This does not make it any safer to accept. The security features on US currency are very different than Canadian currency. The public should take great caution when accepting foreign currencies and should encourage all currency exchanges to take place at financial institutions.
