On Tuesday, March 25, 2008, shortly before 5:00pm, Durham Regional Police Service was called to a retail jewellery store on King Street West in Bowmanville, Ontario for a report of a robbery.
The victim reported that three males attended the store shortly before 5:00pm and waited until all other customers had left the store. The three males produced knives and began assaulting store employees but fled the store when a customer walked in the front door and observed the robbery in progress. The customer fled the store, followed by two of the knife wielding suspects. The customer called 911 and along with two other male citizens, began chasing the subjects.
Attending DRPS officers apprehended two of the subjects who have been charged with numerous offences. One subject is still at large and is described as: male, white, 5'10” – 6'0”, 25 -35 years of age, with a shaved head with a receding hairline. He was wearing a dark brown or black leather jacket; a light coloured un-tucked patterned dress shirt, blue jeans and running shoes. He was armed with a large knife. He's considered armed and dangerous.
Investigators believe that this subject may be travelling in a red Pontiac Grand Prix or Grand Am style vehicle and may be heading towards the Hamilton Area.
